Arab News, the voice of civilized Islam

In an article entitiled "These Rabbis are rabid, " the Arab News has reached a new low in demonstrating to the English speaking audience Islamic 'Enlightenment.'

With much disgust, the 'writer,' Tariq A. Al-Maeena states:

A news item that would never make it to the front pages of the US press caught my attention the other day. It seems that some Israeli rabbis have decreed the Israeli Army not shy away from killing Palestinian civilians in the context of the ongoing military campaign against armed groups resisting the illegal occupation of their lands.

For some reason, Mr. Al Maeena finds that more important than taking issue with terrorism, or even the inevitable celebration of terror attacks against civilians- that has been going on for over 50 years, with the blessing of the Islamic clergy.

The rest of the article is patently ridiculous and deliberately misleading, but Mr. Al-Maeena then has the temerity to solemnly ask:

What would possess these men of the cloth to justify the killing of the innocent?
Imagine that. After decades of Mosque sermons that end with cries of 'Itbach al Yahudi!'-- Slaughter the Jews!-- Mr. Al-Maeena sees fit not to question Islam, but rather to castigate Jews who are sick and tired of being blown to bits within the 'occupied territories' and on buses and in restaurants within Israel. Not even religious Passover dinners are exempted from the 'enlightened' exercise of terror. Somehow, Mr. Al-Maeena isn't concerned about Islamic clerics.

Mr. Al-Maeena then goes on to again deliberately misquote statements or take them out of context.

Mr Al-Maeena is a hypocrite and a fraud- which is no surprise, really. No doubt, if confronted, he'll say he was 'misunderstood.'

Spend 5 minutes on
MEMRI and the real Mr Al-Maeenas' of Saudi Arabia make themselves evident.

Spend a bit more time on
MEMRITV and you see it as well as read it.

His obsession with Jews and Israel has obscured all rational thought.

Does Mr. Al-Maeena really want to play the religion comparison game?

Think before you answer, Mr. Al-Maeena.

He chooses not to discuss the slaughter in Darfur, the ongoing slave trade by Arabs in Mauritania, the rape and dismemberment of children in Algeria by the GIA, the forced conversions and forced circumcisions that took place in East Timor, or the slaughter in Nigeria that continues. From his own very backyard that produced the 9/11 terrorists, Mr. Al-Maeena and the Muslim world doesn't want you to remember the day that was met with so much joy and glee. He doesn't want you to remember the clerics who called that day of infamy a 'gift' from Allah.

Now that Beslan is out of the headlines, life can get back to normal for Mr. Al Maeena. That one, quick moment of self reflection for many in the Islamic world has ended.

If Mr Al-Maeena is looking for the devil, all he has to do is look in the mirror.

Physician, heal thyself.
