Terror group targets Putin and 'infidels'
As reported by AP/Dow Jones Newswire
An Islamic militant group that claimed responsibility for two terrorist attacks in Russia last month said in an Internet statement Thursday that its next target is Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The statement, issued in the name of The Islambouli Brigades, appeared on aWeb site known for carrying previous statements from militants, and called on all its cells in Russia to wage "a violent war in the face of the infidels in Russia, targeting everywhere."
The Islambouli Brigades claimed responsibility for the downing of two Russian planes on Aug. 24, which killed 90 people. The same group claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing outside a Moscow subway station on Aug. 31 that killed 10 people and injured more than 50.
"We in al-Islambouli Brigades, after we translated our words previously
onto the land of Moscow and into the skies of Russia, announce that the head of the state of unfaithfulness will be our target in upcoming qualitative operations," the statement said in reference to Putin.
"The sound of our response will be heard by everyone living in Russia. Your people will taste hell, so long as you are thirsty for the blood of Muslim men and women in Chechnya," the statement said speaking to Putin.
